Program Highlights

Common Module: Texts and Human Experiences  
Students explore how texts capture the essence of human experiences, emotions, and struggles. This module teaches them to analyse and relate universal themes across diverse texts, helping them craft responses that reflect personal insight and textual understanding.
Module A: Language, Identity and Culture
This module explores how language reflects and shapes individual and collective identity. Through responding and composing, students examine how language can affirm, challenge, or disrupt beliefs about individuals and cultural groups. By studying one prescribed text in detail, students investigate how textual forms and language features communicate ideas, values, and cultural perspectives.  
Module B: Close Study of Literature 
Students develop a deep understanding of a substantial literary text by analysing its ideas, form, and language. They explore how composers portray people and settings, crafting critical and creative responses that refine their expression and language skills. Through analysis and composition, they strengthen their personal and intellectual engagement with the text.
Module C: The Craft of Writing 
Students refine their writing skills, focusing on creating original pieces that reflect various forms and purposes. This module teaches students how to employ sophisticated language techniques to express ideas compellingly and effectively.

Module B: Critical Study of Literature
Students engage in an immersive, close study of a prescribed text to develop a nuanced appreciation for its language, form, and meaning. This module trains them to form and defend critical perspectives through well-structured essays, demonstrating deep textual insight and originality.
Module C: The Craft of Writing
